INDEPENDENT BUYING GUIDE
Superbuy Shipping Expert vs Shipping Estimates: Which Information Do You Need?
Use an estimate to plan a budget from the information you currently have. Use Shipping Expert when you need a parcel plan based on your stored items and packing instructions. Neither a preliminary estimate nor this guide guarantees the final charge or delivery date.
Compare the two jobs
| Question | Shipping estimate | Shipping Expert |
|---|---|---|
| What information starts it? | Destination, weight, dimensions and item category | Warehouse items, address and shipping needs |
| What does it help decide? | Potential routes and a preliminary budget | Packing and parcel submission preferences |
| What needs checking? | Accuracy of your inputs and route terms | Service charge, packing requests and payment settings |
| What remains uncertain? | Final packed measurement and eligibility | Carrier assessment, acceptance and subsequent delivery |
Use the calculator for a first comparison
The official calculator asks for the destination, warehouse, weight in grams, dimensions in centimetres and item category. Enter known measurements; label any unknown inputs as provisional in your notes. If you do not yet know packed size, the calculator cannot resolve that missing information for you.
Compare routes with the same inputs. Read weight and size limits, category restrictions and how billable weight is determined. A quote for a different destination, item type or packing arrangement is not a useful like-for-like comparison.
Prepare a Shipping Expert request
- Review the stored items and finish the necessary QC checks first.
- Choose the items and address on the official Shipping Expert form.
- State whether splitting the shipment is acceptable and specify packing needs, such as retaining a box that protects the contents.
- Explain any priorities and constraints in the request. Do not assume removing packaging is suitable for every item.
- Read the displayed service fee and terms. The official form distinguishes the service fee from the shipping charge.
- Choose the payment behaviour intentionally. The form presents automatic deduction and a manual-confirmation option; read the selected setting before submitting.
Review the resulting plan
Check the parcel contents, destination, dimensions, weight, route and packing choices. If the proposal differs from your instructions, ask before payment or dispatch. Do not interpret a service fee as the whole cost of transport. Superbuy's beginner guidance says the eventual shipping amount depends on the package measurements verified for shipment.
A simple decision rule
Need only an early budget? Start with the calculator and retain its assumptions. Need the packing choices resolved for stored goods? Review Shipping Expert's form and current terms. Need to know why the numbers differ? Compare the measurements and route basis rather than assuming the lower figure is final.
Read weight, volume and packaging for the cost variables, and the QC checklist before you submit a parcel.
